About the Role
This is not a live vacancy but an invitation to join Framestore's AI talent pool. Framestore's London studio is building relationships with artists working at the frontier of AI-assisted visual development. We are the studio behind ambitious visual storytelling in cinema, including Guardians of the Galaxy, How To Train Your Dragon, Paddington, Harry Potter, Project Hail Mary, and Wicked. We are now exploring the next chapter by using AI as a creative amplifier rather than a shortcut. Our proprietary tools, including Futon—our generative AI pipeline integration—enable artists to shape, iterate, and realize complex visuals at unprecedented pace and scale. We seek artists comfortable working with AI as a core part of their creative process, whether you are a concept artist with custom ComfyUI workflows, a matte painter using AI to explore composition, or an artist whose practice evolves beyond standard roles. Experience
- Proven experience using generative AI tools as an integral part of your creative workflow, not just as a finishing step.
- Experience building workflows, iterating on models, or generating imagery that advances visual storytelling.
- Familiarity with tools such as Futon, ComfyUI, Nuke, Blender, Unreal/Realtime engines, or interest in frontier techniques like Gaussian Splatting is a strong advantage.

About you
- Strong visual foundations including frame, composition, light, and colour, ensuring AI-assisted work remains intentional and refined.
- Curiosity about production pipelines and how concept work informs downstream VFX processes.
- A portfolio that demonstrates your visual problem-solving skills, including process work, personal projects, and experimental output.
- Interest in how visual development integrates with 3D pipelines and lighting decisions.
