About the Role
As a Critical Environment Technician (CET) within Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will maintain and support the critical infrastructure that ensures our datacenters operate efficiently and reliably. Your responsibilities will include coordinating with suppliers and vendors, collaborating with management to address operational, risk, and safety issues, mentoring fellow technicians, and performing hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of critical environment equipment. You will respond to onsite incidents, lead incident response teams, and use telemetry and monitoring platforms to oversee equipment performance.

Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND mission critical services work or applied learning experience in high availability assembly, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure environments such as datacenters, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industries OR equivalent experience. Experience in a specialized area such as mechanical, electrical, or controls fields is required.

You are a proactive and skilled technician with a hands-on understanding of critical environment equipment and systems. You can independently troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and cooling systems. You demonstrate strong safety awareness, follow established procedures, and lead incident response efforts effectively. Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Mission critical services experience as described above

Preferred:
- Extensive mission critical services experience in relevant environments
- Associate's Degree, technical trade certification (military, trade school), or higher-equivalent education

Additional Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements including passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire and every two years thereafter.
