About the Role
The Chief Risk Officer (CRO), FTSE Russell and Risk Intelligence, provides second line risk leadership and strategic oversight across two of LSEG’s key businesses: FTSE Russell – a global provider of benchmarks and indices supporting customers in making informed investment decisions; and Risk Intelligence – a global business focused on preventing financial crime and fraud, enabling customers to transact quickly, safely and ethically. Reporting directly to the Group Chief Risk Officer and leading a specialist team of risk managers, the role ensures risk is positioned as a strategic partner to divisional leadership with clear visibility across strategic, resilience, regulatory and emerging risk themes. The CRO operates horizontally across both divisions, collaborating closely with other Divisional CROs and central risk teams where risks intersect. Key responsibilities include influencing strategic, commercial and operational decision-making, integrating risk considerations early into product development and new business initiatives, and supporting the transition to a product-led operating model. The role holder is responsible for developing an end-to-end risk view aligned to product-led principles spanning Product, Operations, Engineering, and Corporate Functions, providing independent advice and oversight on strategy, transformation and material change initiatives. Embedding effective, scalable risk management practices and driving a shift toward strategic risk management with a focus on resilience and control effectiveness are critical to success. The CRO ensures Group Risk is embedded into product and commercial decision processes and maintains a credible presence at divisional leadership and governance forums.

Experience
- Extensive senior experience in business, index and benchmark, content operations, risk management, compliance or audit roles at major global organisations preferred.
- Familiarity with data management, data rights and the end-to-end data lifecycle, including hands-on experience with technical data solutions such as Fabric, Lakehouse, Databricks, Snowflake.
- Proven track record in strategic problem solving, delivering complex projects with quality and efficiency.
- Strong analytical skills and innovative thinking.
- Experience balancing competing factors to deliver optimal outcomes.
- Established network across the financial services industry.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior management and collaborate effectively across divisions and groups.
