About the Role
FTSE Russell, a subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), is a leading global provider of financial services specializing in indexes, data, and analytic solutions. We are seeking a junior software engineer to join a dynamic team focused on building the distribution capabilities of our index products to the financial community worldwide. The distribution platform includes systems that deliver indexes to subscribing clients, provide analytics, build product data stores, manage delivery channels (files, APIs, etc.), permissioning, and client consumption tracking.
As an Index Distribution Software Engineer, you will contribute to building a modern, cloud-native (AWS) distribution infrastructure with high resilience. You will work closely with your team to provide scalable solutions and deliver high-quality index products, ensuring consistent, reliable delivery with excellent content and format quality. You will own the full software development lifecycle, fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Your work will involve building the next generation of index distribution platforms, developing efficient and secure cloud-native architectures, working with relational and NoSQL databases, and designing scalable data models. You will participate in code reviews, collaborate with global teams, and embed a test culture through automated and integrated test cases. This role offers the opportunity to learn about financial data and distribution technologies while working on mission-critical systems in an agile, collaborative environment.

Experience
- Proven proficiency in Typescript, Python, and JavaScript (with Angular)
- Experience in UI development for business-critical applications using Angular (8+), JavaScript, Typescript, HTML/CSS
- Exposure to AWS services including EC2, Lambda, Glue, EKS, SQS, SNS
- Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server), NoSQL, and modern Lakehouse architectures (Iceberg)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and Terraform
- Pragmatic application of technologies optimized for data distribution use cases
- Ability to be product-centric and client-led
