About the Role
As a Customer Delivery Driver at Sainsbury's, you will be the face of the company at every doorstep you deliver to, ensuring customers feel valued through a thoughtful, friendly, and helpful delivery service. You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in excellent condition. Your responsibilities include completing vehicle checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean, and organised, securing customers’ shopping before departure, and following planned routes while driving safely in various traffic, weather, and road conditions.

You will move containers weighing up to 15kg and deliver shopping to a variety of properties, which may involve steps, lifts, or longer walks from the van. Excellent communication with customers is essential, including keeping them informed of any delays, handling queries, and managing order changes. When not making deliveries, you may be required to assist across the store as needed.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, physical, and high-energy environment, contributing to the smooth running of the store and delivering exceptional customer service, especially during busy periods such as the festive season.

Experience
No specific prior experience required, but comfortable driving larger vehicles and working in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Qualifications
- Must be over 18 years old
- Full UK/EU driving licence held for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points
- Right to Work eligibility in the UK
- Willingness to complete online driving risk assessment and driving assessment upon joining
- Commitment to safe driving standards supported by in-cab AI camera monitoring
