About the Role
UK Parliament is seeking a Deputy Director - Capability to join the Parliamentary Security Department. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the department is prepared, resilient and equipped to meet current and emerging security challenges. You will provide strategic leadership across physical security, threat and risk assessment, contingency planning, workforce and professional capability. Working closely with senior stakeholders across both Houses and trusted external partners, you will embed security considerations into wider parliamentary activity, oversee strategic business and financial planning, and champion inclusion, professionalism and development across a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team. Your leadership will help keep Parliament safe and open for business.

Experience
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop trust and credibility across a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders
- Experience in strategic thinking and enterprise mindset, balancing priorities and planning effectively across financial and non-financial contexts
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to provide trusted, professional advice to senior leaders and stakeholders
- Sound judgement and risk-aware approach, with experience in analysing risk and making well-considered decisions in complex, fast-moving environments
- Understanding of governance in complex organisations and capability to navigate decision-making routes and advise senior stakeholders
