About the Role
As Deputy Director - Capability at UK Parliament, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Parliamentary Security Department is prepared, resilient and equipped to meet current and emerging security challenges. You will provide strategic leadership across physical security, threat and risk assessment, contingency planning, workforce and professional capability. Working closely with senior stakeholders across both Houses and trusted external partners, you will embed security considerations into wider parliamentary activity, oversee strategic business and financial planning, and champion inclusion, professionalism and development across a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team. Your leadership will help keep Parliament safe and open for business.
Experience
- Proven leadership in managing diverse teams and developing trust and credibility with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
- Experience in strategic thinking with an enterprise mindset, balancing priorities and planning effectively across financial and non-financial contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong partnerships and provide trusted, professional advice to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Sound judgement and a risk-aware approach, with experience analysing risk and making well-considered decisions in complex, fast-moving environments.
- Understanding of governance in complex organisations, with experience navigating decision-making routes and advising senior stakeholders.
