Based within a residential service across 4 sites in Croydon, within walking distance from East Croydon train and tram links. Please note this service does not have step-free access.
Hours
12 month fixed term contract, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday working between 10:00 - 18:00. Hours may vary depending on service needs.

£32,000 per annum
About the Role
We are seeking a Dual Diagnosis Worker with expertise in mental health and substance use to join our team in Croydon. Based in a residential service, you will support residents with mental health, complex needs, and dual diagnosis. Using your specialist knowledge, you will help both residents and the wider team overcome personal challenges through evidence-based approaches that promote recovery, independence, and integration via holistic assessments.
Your main duties will include:
- Undertaking joint holistic assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and interventions to support harm reduction and minimisation.
- Setting up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, collaborating closely with colleagues and support teams to advise on interventions and approaches tailored to individual needs.
- Helping reduce episodes of crisis and assisting residents to access services offering alternatives to crisis support.
- Working closely with support staff and clinical teams to provide guidance on interventions addressing comorbid, complex mental health and substance misuse needs.
- Supporting multi-disciplinary and wider community teams with advice, signposting, and move-on care planning.
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role providing interventions and holistic assessments for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
- Practical experience supporting individuals with comorbid and complex needs.
- Ability to provide specialist support in risk assessment and risk management, particularly relating to harm minimisation, substance misuse, and mental health.

Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications in mental health, substance use, or related fields are required.
