Hours
10 hour shifts on Saturday or Sunday (Minimum 100 hours per year)

Salary
Starting salary: £28.80 per hour, up to approximately £50 per hour. Ad-hoc assessments available.

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) with at least two years’ experience to undertake Mental Health Act assessments during weekends and bank holidays that cannot wait until the next working day. You will be guaranteed one weekend day shift per month, with shifts running from 10am until 8pm. Overtime is paid if necessary.

You will be supported by an experienced Emergency Duty Team (EDT) worker who will triage assessments before allocation. On rare occasions when no assessments are available, you may assist with Adult Social Care referrals such as No Entries or agreeing to extra care package support.

This role offers an ideal insight into generic emergency social work and is suitable for those considering EDT work as a career. Camden is a busy borough with a high volume of Mental Health Act assessments. There is also the opportunity to carry out additional Mental Health Act assessments during weekday evenings at a fixed rate on an ad-hoc basis, with no obligation to accept these referrals.

Camden Council is committed to inclusion and operates an anonymised recruitment process to reduce unconscious bias.
