About the Role
As a Planning Technician, you will play a key role in delivering a responsive, high-performing and customer-focused Development Management Service. You will be responsible for validating, assessing and determining straightforward planning applications and appeals.

You will work as part of a team of Technical Officers providing essential technical and administrative support across the service. Your duties will include logging and directing planning-related correspondence, responding to customer enquiries, registering planning and tree applications, processing enforcement cases, managing shared mailboxes and administering appeals. You will also support wider service improvements and contribute to maintaining high standards of accuracy, efficiency and customer service.

Experience
Experience in Development Management within a local authority environment is highly valuable. Familiarity with planning application processes and customer service in a public sector setting is desirable.

A clear understanding of the role of local government in delivering high-quality services is important.
