About the Role
As an Employability Team Leader, you will be the driving force behind a team of Employment Advisors—empowering, training, and inspiring them to create opportunities for participants. You will champion innovation, inclusion, and performance excellence while fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and teamwork. Beyond performance, your role is about creating opportunities, shifting mindsets, and transforming experiences for everyone you support—participants at every stage of their journey and your team alike—through strong people-centred leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, developing, and retaining high-quality Employment Advisors to support participants into sustainable employment
- Establishing a clear vision and fostering a supportive culture that encourages continuous improvement and high standards
- Ensuring Advisors work effectively with participants, creating tailored support plans and overcoming barriers to work
- Driving performance through regular reviews, coaching, observations, and caseload management
- Identifying skills and knowledge gaps, sharing best practice, and ensuring development plans are effective and supported by the right training
- Onboarding new team members and setting clear expectations
- Monitoring and managing Quality, Compliance, and Customer Service Standards daily
- Producing weekly and monthly management information and supporting audits
- Building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including Jobcentre Plus and local partners
- Managing recruitment and onboarding for your team
Experience
- Strong leadership and coaching skills with experience motivating teams and driving high performance
- Experience in target-driven environments (e.g., B2B sales or equivalent)
- Knowledge of the local labour market and stakeholder engagement
- Proficiency in data analysis and digital tools (Microsoft Office and web-based platforms)
