About the Role
Are you an experienced, motivated, high-performing clinician looking for a new way to use your clinical skills while achieving a better work-life balance? As a Functional Assessor with Ingeus, you will carry out functional assessments with claimants face-to-face, via video and telephone to evaluate their ability to undertake activities of daily living. You will ask focused questions, use active listening and critical reasoning skills to gather accurate information, and produce high-quality, structured clinical reports for submission to the DWP. Your role will also involve reviewing and requesting additional evidence when necessary, clinically triaging cases to determine the correct assessment pathway, and working alongside experienced clinical colleagues to ensure fair and high-quality assessments for all claimants.

Experience
Minimum of 12 months post-qualification and registration experience. Must have been practicing as a clinician in the UK for the last 12 months.
About you
NMC-registered Adult Nurses (RGN, RMN, RNLD) or HCPC-registered Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists. Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills, confident typing ability, and comfortable using computers and different software packages to complete detailed, high-quality reports. Open to formalised training to become a DWP approved Functional Assessor and receptive to ongoing constructive feedback. Thrives in a structured working environment and is motivated to use clinical skills in a different way.
Qualifications
Registered with NMC or HCPC as appropriate to your profession.
Additional Information
This role requires working on site for 3 days a week. It may not suit those uncomfortable with technology, those who dislike writing detailed reports, prefer hands-on clinical care, are not seeking a new clinical direction, or do not want to work in a target-driven environment.
