Hours
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, hybrid working with 3 days at your local assessment centre (more days possible if preferred)
Salary
£46,813.50 per annum with the opportunity to increase salary by £2,000 within 12 months (£1,000 after 6 months following training and approval, and an additional £1,000 at 12 months). Further salary uplifts available as you learn new specialist skills. Up to 10% annual bonus paid quarterly.
About the Role
Are you an experienced, motivated, high-performing clinician looking to develop, learn, and grow? This role offers a different way to use your clinical skills while achieving a better work-life balance. As a Functional Assessor with Ingeus, you will carry out functional assessments with claimants face to face, via video, and telephone to evaluate their ability to undertake activities of daily living. You will ask focused questions, use active listening and critical reasoning skills to gather accurate information, and produce high-quality, structured clinical reports for submission to the DWP. You will review and evaluate evidence, request additional information when necessary, and clinically triage cases to determine the correct assessment pathway. Working alongside experienced clinical colleagues, you will ensure high-quality and fair assessments for all claimants. The role includes a structured training programme to achieve formal DWP accreditation, paid CPD, reimbursed registration fees, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (with the option to buy more), and clear career progression routes within Ingeus and the wider APM Group. Experience
Minimum of 12 months post-qualification and registration experience. Must have been practicing as a clinician in the UK within the last 12 months.
About you
- Registered with NMC as an Adult Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD) or registered with HCPC as a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, or Paramedic.
- Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills.
- Confident typing and using computers.
- Open to a formalised training programme to become a DWP approved Functional Assessor.
- Receptive to ongoing constructive feedback to ensure the best claimant experience.
- Comfortable learning different software packages to complete detailed, high-quality reports.
- Thrives in a structured working environment and is looking to use clinical skills in a new way.
Qualifications
Registered healthcare professional as listed above with relevant clinical registration.
Additional Information
This role may not be suitable if you are uncomfortable with technology, dislike writing detailed reports, prefer hands-on clinical care, are not seeking a new clinical career direction, do not want to work with targets, or cannot commit to working on site for at least 3 days per week.
