About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS trusts, providing a wide range of hospital and community services across south London and beyond. We are seeking four End User Technology Desktop Support Engineers to join our team and support over 20,000 users across multiple locations. This role involves providing 2nd line IT support, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to desktop and mobile technologies, maintaining communication between users and the IT department, and managing incidents and requests efficiently. You will work both reactively and proactively to maintain and improve IT service levels, including supporting users at the IT TechZone where hardware support is provided. The role requires excellent communication skills, a strong customer service focus, and the ability to work independently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. You will contribute to keeping critical hospital services running smoothly by delivering professional and efficient IT support to Trust staff.

Requirements

Experience
- Relevant experience working in a service management focused IT environment, maintaining service in line with Service Level Agreements
- Experience supporting large scale, complex IT&T environments
- Proven technical abilities in End User Technology support
- Experience with Service Management systems (Incident, Change, etc) is desirable

About you
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to support users in a friendly and professional manner
- Strong customer focus and passion for emerging technologies
- Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize workloads in a flexible working environment
- Ability to work as part of a team and participate in an on-call rota
- Able to deal with staff, customers, and suppliers at all levels

Qualifications
- Essential: Degree in an IT specialism or equivalent relevant technical experience
- Desirable: Other recognised ICT qualifications and ITIL v3 Foundation certification

Knowledge and Skills
- In-depth knowledge of Windows 10 Desktop Operating System
- Technical skills in Active Directory administration
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project)
- Experience with desktop and laptop hardware, handheld and mobile devices, and printer/multi-functional device maintenance
- Understanding of the ITIL Framework and Service Management Systems
- Ability to plan and own tasks through to completion
