About the Role
As a Fabric Engineer, you will utilise your core skills to conduct vital maintenance and repairs across the London Fire Brigade estate. You will be responsible for your own Health & Safety on site, following Method Statements and Risk Assessments as standard, and highlighting specific requirements as needed. Your duties will include assisting with standard maintenance and repairs within Mechanical, Electrical, and Building Fabric trades. You will provide accurate quotes above the comprehensive threshold for submission, complete all necessary paperwork on site, and obtain customer signatures to ensure timely invoicing. Additionally, you will complete engineer’s worksheets in full, detailing any plant requiring additional work and identifying lifecycle replacement needs. Your role also involves conducting fire door inspections in line with SFG20 requirements, locksmith repairs and replacements, tiling repairs and new installations, glazing repairs, plastering and painting repairs or light installations, as well as general carpentry and handyman duties.

- L8 Awareness
- IPAF, PASMA

You proactively report any deficiencies in systems or equipment that may risk service delivery, health and safety, or the environment. You use all work equipment and personal protective equipment properly and in accordance with training received. You communicate any issues or training needs promptly to your Line Manager or via the divisional incident reporting system.
