About the Role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager - Above Ground Stations to join our outstanding Major Projects team to work at our Old Oak Common development in London – be part of the largest construction project in the UK. HS2’s new c. £1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UK’s best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London. Upon completion, the new station will feature six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will provide high-speed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will deliver an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors.

What you'll be doing:
- Lead engineering assurance and governance activities across the Above Ground Stations delivery scope.
- Ensure construction activities are delivered in accordance with approved designs, engineering standards, HS2 requirements, and statutory obligations.
- Provide technical leadership for conventional station packages including structural steelwork, roofing, facades, glazing, doors, rail interfaces, and temporary works.
- Manage engineering risks, assumptions, constraints, and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate engineering activities between design consultants, construction teams, and subcontractors.
- Lead technical resolution of site issues, RFIs, NCRs, and design change proposals.

Experience
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering or related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or demonstrable progression towards chartership.
- CSCS Card.
- SMSTS certification.
- Eligibility to work and live in the UK.

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline.
