About the Role
As a Mobile Caretaker, you will be the key person responsible for maintaining Peabody estates to ensure they are clean, safe, and welcoming. You will travel across multiple sites using a company van, providing cover for caretaking and gardening colleagues across our estate portfolio. Your duties will include keeping communal areas clean, tidy, and graffiti-free, reporting repairs, vandalism, and safety hazards, attending estate walkabouts to help tackle anti-social behaviour, maintaining refuse systems, and carrying out scheduled cleaning tasks. You will also perform safety checks such as emergency lighting and fire alarm testing, working closely with the Estate Services Area Manager to ensure smooth operations across the estates.

Requirements

Experience
Previous caretaking or grounds maintenance experience is beneficial but not essential. Ability to work independently and manage your own workload is required.

About You
- A valid UK driving licence is essential as this is a mobile role requiring travel between sites in a company van.
- Great customer service and communication skills.
- Basic literacy and numeracy.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Physically fit and ready for hands-on work.
- Flexible, proactive attitude and a team-player mindset.
- Willingness to undergo a Basic DBS check.

Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required for this role, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
