About the Role
At Moody's, we unite the brightest minds to turn today’s risks into tomorrow’s opportunities by fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to be themselves, exchange ideas, think innovatively, and listen to each other and customers meaningfully. Moody’s is transforming how the world sees risk as a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment, advancing AI to move from insight to action—enabling intelligence that understands complexity and responds to it. We decode risk to unlock opportunity, helping clients navigate uncertainty with clarity, speed, and confidence.
The Methodology and Model Development Group (MMDG) at Moody’s Ratings develops all methodologies and analytical tools used in the rating process, contributing critically across all sectors. Within MMDG, the Modelling and Quantitative Analytics Group (MQA) advances quantitative modelling, data analysis, and innovation, including Artificial Intelligence, to strengthen credit loss analytics and support transparent communication of Moody’s Ratings methodologies.
We are seeking an Executive Director to lead a global team of quantitative analysts and applied statisticians responsible for developing, calibrating, and enhancing models and analytical tools used in the rating process. Reporting to the Head of Modelling & Quantitative Analytics, this leader will shape the next generation of transparent, predictive, and easy-to-use analytical capabilities.
The successful candidate will combine strong quantitative judgment with strategic leadership, people development, and change management. They will simplify ways of working, strengthen consistency and transparency in modelling practices, and guide the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies in model development.
This role requires a collaborative and inclusive leader who can build trusted relationships across business, analytical, technology, and control functions; translate stakeholder needs into action; and communicate complex analytical topics clearly to senior audiences.

This is a highly visible role for a pragmatic, decisive, and execution-focused leader with the credibility to influence across a global organization.
Main responsibilities include leading model development, calibration, maintenance, and enhancement to ensure best-in-class analytical approaches; facilitating and implementing strategic quantitative solutions to maintain Moody’s as the Rating Agency of Choice; partnering with senior leaders and analytical teams to understand business priorities and market developments; overseeing the model development pipeline and providing transparent progress updates; identifying and implementing process, technology, and analytical improvements to reduce risk and improve efficiency; building and retaining a high-performing global team; leading innovation initiatives including responsible AI and machine learning use; fostering an inclusive environment; and setting a strong leadership example by acting with integrity and building trust.
