About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Finance and Analysis Manager with excellent analytical and finance skills to work alongside the Head of Financial Sustainability to support the Trust’s efficiency challenge. The successful candidate will manage multiple projects independently, using initiative to solve problems and produce clear outputs. This role involves close collaboration with finance, clinical, operational managers and performance improvement teams to deliver operational efficiency.
The Finance and Analysis Manager will focus on three key areas: developing financial and non-financial insights to support Cost Improvement Programme (CIP) identification and impact; refining CIP processes and reporting with strong quality assurance; and engaging with stakeholders across the organisation to support CIP ideation and data-driven decision making. The role emphasizes developing data insights and analysis tools that enable and drive change, alongside thoughtful stakeholder engagement.
Main Duties
- Develop analysis that drives actionable insights supporting business planning and operational improvement across the Trust.
- Evaluate and analyse complex issues using analytic tools and benchmarking sources such as Model Hospital and GIRFT.
- Implement continuous review and rigour of all CIP projects, managing them from inception to completion.
- Lead evaluation of control and CIP processes, facilitating collaborative working across clinical and delivery groups.
- Develop dashboards with key performance indicators for tracking and analytical insights.
- Liaise with teams including the Centre for Innovation Transformation and Improvement (CITI), Faculty of Analytics, CMO, COO, Clinical Groups and Corporate Functions to share best practice.
- Design, facilitate and lead workshops, stakeholder events and project meetings.
- Make informed recommendations based on credible evidence and complex data analysis.
- Present data-driven evidence and recommendations to diverse audiences including clinical leads, directors and staff.
- Track and evaluate changes, measuring impact against improvement metrics.
- Produce written documentation including project reports and communications for a wide range of audiences.

Experience
- Working knowledge of the NHS structure, roles, clinical processes, datasets and information systems.
- Experience in strategic financial analysis and development of outputs supporting change programmes.
- Proven ability to work with and influence multiple stakeholders to secure engagement in significant change initiatives.
- Considerable experience working autonomously within defined parameters to meet objectives.
About You
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond to unexpected demands.
- Strong communication skills, both written (including complex report writing) and verbal, with expert facilitation abilities.
- Skilled in designing and building models in Excel or modelling software and creating outputs in Tableau, PowerBI or equivalent.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and lead workshops and stakeholder events.
Qualifications
- Educated to master’s degree level or equivalent experience in a complex organisation.
- Relevant accountancy or financial qualifications or equivalent experience (e.g. CIMA, ACCA).
- Excellent knowledge of IT systems including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, MS Teams and PowerPoint.
Desirable
- Certification in project or programme management (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, APM, MSP).
- Skilled in data cleaning and database administration.
- Experience working across multiple organisations to secure change.
- Experience operating in a consultancy role.
