About the Role
Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS trusts, providing a wide range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care nationally. The Integrated Local Services (ILS) directorate delivers community and inpatient health services for adults in Lambeth, Southwark, and Lewisham, including neighbourhood nursing, specialist rehabilitation, palliative care, learning disabilities services, homeless and high intensity user services, tobacco dependence treatment, weight management, and more. The directorate works closely with hospital teams, social services, mental health providers, and voluntary organisations to deliver integrated care.

This 9-month secondment opportunity is for a dynamic and forward-thinking governance lead to join the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QIPs) team. The postholder will support the clinical governance agenda within the directorate, collaborating with nursing leadership, management, and clinical directors. Key responsibilities include oversight of systems and processes for monitoring and improving services, user and public involvement, risk management, clinical audit, clinical effectiveness programs, staffing, education and training, and information use. This role is pivotal in ensuring robust governance and quality assurance during a period of transformation and development within GSTT community services.

The Trust is renowned for clinical excellence, high-quality teaching, research, and patient-centred care, with one of the lowest mortality rates in the NHS and an overall CQC rating of 'good'. The adult community services have achieved an 'outstanding' rating. The Trust values diversity and is committed to equality of opportunity and flexible working arrangements to support staff wellbeing and service needs.
