About the Role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Group Financial Accountant to join our growing team in London. This role is part of the Balfour Beatty plc Group Finance team and involves reviewing and analysing financial data from local business finance teams to provide monthly, yearly, and annual reporting. You will deliver financial analysis to decision-makers across the Group, gaining an in-depth understanding of the Group’s operations and future vision. The role includes regular interaction with senior management.

You will assist the Head of Reporting by taking responsibility for implementing and maintaining key technical areas, including:
- Pensions accounting and coordination with the pensions department and external actuarial advisors to produce monthly reporting, forecasts, and budgets.
- Share-based payments accounting, working with various business areas to produce monthly reporting, group forecasts, budgets, and prepare disclosures for the Group’s annual report.
- Providing ad hoc technical accounting support on corporate transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, and refinancing.
- Testing financial covenants at each reporting period and on an ad hoc basis to ensure compliance.
- Conducting technical analysis and quantification of emerging accounting and financial issues.
- Supporting half-year and year-end reporting including cash flow statements, goodwill and intangible asset impairment reviews, acquisitions, disposals, and pensions.
- Providing analysis for senior financial and non-financial management and undertaking other ad hoc analyses.

Experience
ACA qualification or relevant post-graduate qualification required.
Expert ability in Excel for data manipulation and reporting is highly advantageous (on-the-job training provided).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand, interpret, and analyse financial and non-financial information.
Experience in providing technical accounting support and financial analysis.
