About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Health & Safety team at the London Borough of Bexley. You will lead on the drafting of Health & Safety policies, guidance, and other supporting materials. The role offers a chance to contribute to a vibrant and diverse outer London Borough that combines the energy of the city with the tranquillity of Kent. Bexley boasts award-winning parks, open spaces, heritage sites, excellent transport connections including the Elizabeth Line and proximity to the M25, as well as a wide range of amenities such as libraries, leisure centres, shopping areas, and educational institutions. The position is a fixed term contract for 6 months with interviews scheduled for the week commencing 31 August.

Experience
Applicants must hold a qualification such as the NEBOSH Certificate (Level 3) or an equivalent qualification as a minimum. Only suitably qualified individuals will be considered.

You should be motivated to lead on health and safety policy development and have the ability to produce clear, comprehensive guidance and supporting materials. A commitment to working within a diverse local authority environment and contributing positively to the team is essential. The role may be suitable as a development opportunity through secondment for existing Council employees.
Qualifications
A minimum of NEBOSH Certificate (Level 3) or equivalent qualification is required.
