About the Role
Brent is a vibrant London borough known for its diversity and iconic landmarks such as Wembley Stadium. The council is undergoing a significant transformation to better serve its community, making this an exciting time to join us.
We are seeking passionate and resilient individuals to join our Initial Assessment Team within the Housing Options Service. In this role, you will provide proactive advice and support to families and pregnant people facing housing difficulties, in line with current legislation and codes of guidance.
You will identify those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness within 56 days and conduct home visits to confirm homelessness. This fast-paced and dynamic role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to preventing homelessness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for households facing homelessness, assessing their circumstances and needs
- Providing practical advice and sustainable housing solutions
- Working collaboratively with partners to prevent and relieve homelessness
- Conducting home visits to confirm homelessness

Experience
