Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing health, safety and wellbeing leadership by implementing and championing the client's safety-first strategy, ensuring wellbeing is prioritised alongside safety.
- Offering expert HSW guidance to project teams, operations staff, development teams and supply-chain partners.
- Promoting a positive safety and wellbeing culture, embedding mental health considerations in all activities.
- Attending sites to undertake verification, identify non-conformances, and recommend improvements, including formal site inspection reporting.
- Stopping any “imminent danger” activities immediately and supporting stand-down reviews with recommendations.
- Maintaining compliance with all relevant health, safety, security, environmental and wellbeing legislation applicable to the client's portfolio.
- Managing or supporting risk assessments using recognised methodologies such as HAZOP, Bow-Tie analysis and high-risk reviews.
- Supporting project reviews with HSW guidance and managing risks across regeneration, development, acquisitions and operational activities.
- Maintaining, improving and embedding HSEQ management systems that meet UK regulatory requirements.
- Working with Project Managers to achieve compliance with RiskWise and monitor mitigation measures.
- Overseeing incident reporting and investigations, ensuring lessons learned and corrective actions are implemented.
- Supporting internal and external audits and reporting on HSW performance.
- Engaging closely with internal teams, regeneration partners and external stakeholders to manage community and operational HSW risks.
- Communicating clearly on HSW expectations, standards and responsibilities.
- Identifying and introducing technical and digital innovations to improve health, safety and wellbeing outcomes.
- Developing strategies to improve long-term health outcomes, including occupational hygiene and surveillance programmes.
- Benchmarking performance and driving ongoing improvements in project and operational safety management.
- Identifying HSW training needs and coordinating delivery of training programmes.
- Providing coaching and guidance to help teams implement effective HSW practices.
