About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. This role is for a Regional Design Assurance Manager, responsible for overseeing and assuring workplace design across the UK/Europe and US/LAM regions. You will work closely with project management teams to deliver targeted training, continuous guidance, and governance throughout the project lifecycle. Your key responsibility will be to ensure all workspace designs adhere to the client’s minimum design standards, covering architectural, interior, and inclusive design, brand implementation, accessibility, health and safety, and sustainability.
Key dimensions of the role include:
- Client: Providing regular progress reporting across multiple regions and actively engaging as part of both the project team and client relationship management.
- Portfolio: Managing involvement across a global portfolio, collaborating with project delivery teams operating in various time zones.
- Project: Handling multiple tasks independently with strong self-management and accountability.
- People: Delivering training and mentoring to client teams and third-party providers, supporting capability development and knowledge transfer.
You will be responsible for providing project-level design guidance and support, delivering design assurance by assessing compliance with client design standards, monitoring and reporting on design governance progress, identifying and managing deviations, supporting project teams with up-to-date standards and training, advising on local adaptations of design standards, contributing to design communications, ensuring brand compliance in external documentation, acting as a subject matter expert, building strong relationships with stakeholders, influencing client decisions, presenting insights and opportunities, reviewing project controls for continuous improvement, and reporting risks and issues via regional reports.
Experience
- Proven experience in Design Assurance Management is highly desirable.
- Prior experience working with clients in the banking or financial services sector is highly desirable.
- Strong track record of managing relationships with senior stakeholders at a strategic level.
- Extensive experience delivering projects and programmes successfully through all stages.
- Demonstrated commercial awareness and understanding of organisational dynamics.
- Ability to lead strategically and tactically across multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.
- Solid understanding of statutory legislation including building regulations, fire safety, and building safety act.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, capable of managing complex, multi-dimensional projects.
- Confidence operating at both strategic and operational levels, shaping project direction and influencing key decision-makers.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, or equivalent education and/or professional experience.
- Professional membership with ARB, RIBA, or an equivalent regulatory body.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
