About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. We are seeking a Senior Cost Consultant with an MEP background to join our Education sector team. You will provide full cycle cost management services for ongoing commissions and projects, including conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, and preparing procurement reports. You will apply value management techniques at the outset of projects, manage estimating and cost planning activities, take ownership of and present final cost plans, and ensure final accounts are negotiated and agreed. Acting as a key interface with clients, stakeholders, and other consultants throughout all project stages, you will handle contractual frameworks and standard forms of contract. Additionally, you will identify and implement improvements to cost management procedures, templates, products, and internal systems to enhance the services provided to clients.

Experience
Proven experience in cost and commercial management with a strong MEP background. Experience conducting feasibility studies, procurement strategy advice, contract administration including JCT/NEC forms, value engineering, and life cycle costing. Demonstrated ability to manage estimating, cost planning, and final account negotiations. Experience providing commercial insight on MEP, sustainability, carbon reduction, and public-sector priorities.

Enthusiastic and passionate about cost and commercial management. Strong communication skills to act as a key interface with clients, stakeholders, and consultants. Ability to apply industry best practice, multi-sector experience, and professional standards to deliver excellent client outcomes. Proactive in identifying and implementing improvements to cost management procedures and internal systems.

Qualifications
Relevant professional qualifications in cost consultancy, quantity surveying, or related disciplines are desirable. Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to industry standards.
