About the Role
FTSE Russell is seeking an organised, detail-focused and analytically minded Issue Management Analyst to support the operation of the first-line Issue Management framework across the global business. This role provides core execution support across the issue lifecycle, ensuring issues are accurately recorded, appropriately tracked, well evidenced and subject to timely follow-up. You will maintain high-quality issue data, support governance routines, and enable clear management information on issue health, remediation progress, ageing and emerging risk themes. Working within the 1LOD Risk & Control function, you will help ensure consistent application of Issue Management procedures and controls in line with LSEG standards. The role involves close collaboration with Issue Owners, Action Owners, Risk & Control colleagues and governance stakeholders to maintain complete issue records, visible remediation actions and audit-ready closure evidence. This is an excellent opportunity to build experience in operational risk, issue management, control environments and governance within a regulated financial services and market infrastructure business.

Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day operation of the Issue Management framework including issue creation, tracking, remediation monitoring and closure preparation
- Maintain accurate and complete issue records with key fields, ownership, ratings, dates, action plans and closure evidence
- Assist with triage and quality review of issues to meet procedural and data quality standards
- Track remediation actions and follow up with owners to support timely delivery and escalate overdue items
- Monitor issue ageing, due dates, delivery milestones and closure readiness, highlighting exceptions or concerns
- Support preparation of issue closure packs ensuring evidence is complete and aligned to closure criteria
- Identify and resolve inconsistencies or gaps in issue records with stakeholders
- Perform regular data quality checks and support production of routine Issue Management management information (MI)
- Assist analysis of issue trends, hotspots and systemic drivers to improve risk and control understanding
- Maintain dashboards, trackers and reporting packs for governance forums and senior management
- Support preparation for governance meetings including agenda, meeting packs, action logs and follow-up
- Capture and maintain records of decisions, escalations and actions from governance forums
- Liaise with stakeholders to gather updates, clarify remediation progress and support issue lifecycle discipline
- Escalate data quality concerns, overdue actions or unclear ownership as needed
- Support engagement with second line Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit and other stakeholders
- Contribute to maintaining audit-ready records and evidence for internal review, control testing and regulatory scrutiny
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve issue management processes
- Support alignment between issue records, incidents, controls, RCSA outcomes and remediation activity
- Promote strong risk culture behaviours through attention to detail, transparency, timely escalation and disciplined follow-through

Requirements

Experience
- Strong analytical skills with ability to review, organise and interpret large volumes of information
- Excellent attention to detail and focus on data quality, accuracy and completeness
- Good Microsoft Excel skills for maintaining trackers, analysing data and supporting reporting
- Strong organisational and planning skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines and follow up on actions
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to summarise information accurately and professionally
- Ability to work with stakeholders across teams and seniority levels to gather updates and resolve queries
- Comfortable working with structured processes, governance routines and control requirements
- Proactive mindset with ability to identify gaps, ask questions and escalate issues appropriately
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and delivery discipline

About You
- Experience in issue management, operational risk, governance, controls, audit support or management information production is desirable
- Familiarity with MetricStream, Jira or similar workflow, risk, issue or governance tools is advantageous
- Understanding of risk and control concepts including remediation planning, control weaknesses and closure evidence
