About the Role
FTSE Russell is seeking a capable, organised and detail-oriented Issue Management Senior Associate to support the effective operation of the first-line Issue Management framework across the global business. This role plays a key part in coordinating issue lifecycle activities, supporting remediation delivery, maintaining high-quality issue records and producing reliable management information for governance and senior oversight. You will ensure issues are consistently recorded, appropriately assessed, actively monitored and supported through to closure in line with LSEG standards and FTSE Russell’s first-line risk and control expectations.

Working within the 1LOD Risk & Control function, you will partner with Issue Owners, Action Owners, Risk & Control colleagues and governance collaborators to strengthen issue management discipline across the business. Responsibilities include monitoring remediation plans, challenging data quality gaps, preparing governance materials, tracking decisions and actions, and supporting the production of clear, accurate and audit-ready reporting.

This role requires someone who can operate independently, manage competing priorities, follow up effectively with collaborators and help identify recurring themes, process weaknesses or emerging risks from issue data. It is well suited to candidates with prior experience in governance, controls, risk, audit support, operational resilience, issue management or remediation environments who want to deepen their expertise in a regulated financial services and market infrastructure business.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the end-to-end Issue Management framework including issue identification, assessment, remediation tracking, governance reporting and closure preparation.
- Ensure issue records are complete, accurate and maintained according to agreed procedures.
- Review issue records to identify gaps or inconsistencies and work with Issue Owners to resolve them.
- Monitor remediation delivery, including progress, overdue milestones and closure readiness.
- Support issue triage, prioritisation and preparation for governance review or escalation.
- Produce regular Issue Management reporting and dashboards covering volumes, ageing, remediation status and risk themes.
- Support governance pack preparation for forums, committees and senior management.
- Track governance decisions, actions and escalations.
- Analyse issue data to identify trends, root causes and systemic risks.
- Maintain and update issue records within MetricStream or relevant tools, ensuring data quality and audit readiness.
- Perform quality assurance checks and escalate data quality concerns.
- Support evidence collation for closure, audit and regulatory engagement.
- Build effective working relationships across business, risk, compliance, technology, operations and governance teams.
- Provide guidance on issue record quality, remediation tracking and governance timelines.
- Promote a culture of transparency, accountability and proactive risk identification.
- Identify opportunities to simplify and strengthen issue lifecycle processes and reporting.
- Support continuous improvement of data quality, MI definitions and closure evidence standards.
- Help embed consistent issue management practices across teams and regions.
- Promote strong risk culture behaviours encouraging timely issue identification and disciplined remediation.

Joining FTSE Russell means working in a highly regulated, client-critical environment where strong risk management and control discipline are essential. This role offers practical exposure to issue management, remediation, governance, management information and regulatory expectations, providing a strong foundation for a career in operational risk, controls or governance.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience in governance, controls, risk, operational risk, audit support, issue management or remediation tracking.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple issues, actions, deadlines and stakeholder follow-ups.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on data quality, completeness and accuracy.
- Strong written communication skills, able to summarise issue status, risks, decisions and actions clearly.
- Good analytical skills to interpret issue data, identify trends and highlight management attention areas.
- Experience producing or supporting management information, dashboards, trackers or governance reporting.
- Ability to work with stakeholders across different functions and seniority levels.
- Confidence to challenge incomplete information, unclear ownership or weak evidence constructively.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and escalate delivery risks appropriately.
- Comfortable working in a structured governance and control environment.

Desirable
- Experience using MetricStream, Jira or similar risk, workflow, governance or issue management systems.
- Understanding of issue management lifecycle requirements including identification, assessment, remediation, closure and evidence standards.
- Familiarity with operational risk, control frameworks, RCSA, incident management, root cause analysis or remediation planning.
- Experience supporting governance forums including meeting packs, action logs, minutes, decision records and follow-up tracking.
- Experience working in financial services, market infrastructure, benchmark administration, index, data or analytics environments.
- Awareness of regulatory expectations, audit requirements and the importance of maintaining clear, defensible records.
- Intermediate Excel skills and confidence working with data, trackers and reporting outputs.

About you
You are organised, detail-oriented and proactive with a strong sense of accountability. You communicate clearly and professionally, enjoy working collaboratively across teams and are motivated to support continuous improvement. You thrive in a structured governance environment and are comfortable managing competing priorities while maintaining high standards of data quality and reporting accuracy.
