About the Role
As a DevOps / Platform Engineer in the Core Team, you will be part of ITV's Group Technology Platforms business area based in London. The Core Team supports software development by developing the patterns, processes, and tooling that make up the Common Platform - ITV's internal development platform. This involves leveraging open source, cloud native, and SaaS tooling, packaging them into highly automated, easy to deploy template architectures and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns.
You will own the Common Platform tooling, responsible for bug and issue resolution as well as feature requests. Working alongside Embedded Platform Engineers, you will help ensure best practices, DevOps capabilities, and tooling are shared across ITV's software development teams. Effective communication of platform changes through presentations, training workshops, and coaching sessions is expected.
Key responsibilities include implementing IaC with Terraform, prioritising work for upgrades and business delivery, supporting engineers with deployment and production issues, reviewing and approving pull requests, maintaining infrastructure such as Jenkins, managing Kubernetes deployments in AWS, and designing infrastructure for new or existing applications. You will also contribute ideas and improvements within the Common Platform team.
