About the Role
The People Team within Media & Entertainment operates at the heart of ITV's creative and commercial engine. We partner closely with leaders and managers to deliver strategic people plans that align with our "More than TV" and overall People Strategies. Working alongside specialised Centres of Excellence—including Talent Acquisition, Reward, Learning & Development, Occupational Health, and Diversity & Inclusion—we provide a seamless, high-quality, and comprehensive HR service that makes ITV a fantastic place to work.
We are looking for a People Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for candidates currently in a People Advisor position or those seeking their next career step. If you have a solid theoretical foundation and are eager to make a real impact, this could be the perfect opportunity.
You will support our Media & Entertainment division, including Content, News, Commercial, and Marketing teams, working closely with People Business Partners to implement and deliver strategic people plans and priorities.
Key day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Acting as a critical friend and trusted advisor to leaders and managers, providing guidance on ITV policies, processes, and diversity and inclusion initiatives
- Guiding line managers through everyday HR situations such as capability, performance management, probation management, grievances, and smart/flexible working
- Managing health and wellbeing processes including short- and long-term sickness absence, stress risk assessments, and Occupational Health referrals
- Supporting change and organisational design initiatives, helping to deliver restructures and advocating for business change
- Ensuring policy compliance and risk management by identifying operational risks, overseeing compliance frameworks, and staying up to date with legal/statutory requirements
- Taking accountability for People data within your business areas, leveraging insights to drive informed business decisions
- Collaborating cross-functionally with HR Operations, Services, and Centres of Excellence to deliver efficient service and continuously improve HR toolkits and processes
Some travel within the UK to other ITV offices will be required. The role requires a flexible working style to support cross-divisional needs as necessary.
Please note that due to potentially high volumes of applications, the closing date may be earlier than advertised. We encourage early applications if interested.
Experience
Demonstrable HR generalist experience, preferably within a fast-paced, high-profile organisation. Proven experience identifying and resolving employee relations risks and issues, supported by a solid working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
About you
Strong networking and interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport, trust, and influence across all levels. Action-oriented, resilient, and conscientious with the ability to work independently, make decisions within your scope, and manage competing priorities. Excellent communication skills with confidence to challenge managers appropriately and translate complex initiatives into clear messaging. Solid numerical skills and proficiency with Google Suite/MS Office; experience with Oracle Fusion HR information systems is highly advantageous. Commercial curiosity, a proactive "can-do" approach, and comfort operating with a high degree of ambiguity. A genuine passion for people’s personal development, growth, and continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum Level 5 CIPD qualification is desirable or demonstrable evidence of strong HR technical capability. Ideally experience working within an HR operating model utilising Centres of Excellence and matrix structures.
