About the Role
The ITV Insights Group leads the business in embedding insight into every key decision, such as what content to commission, identifying the most commercially attractive audiences, and optimising products to improve view-through rates. This role, reporting to the Lead Analytics Developer, focuses on developing data products that support the analytics priorities of the Insights Group. You will work closely with the Head of Analytics and collaborate across the Insights Group, Central Insights, and Data Science teams.

Key responsibilities include championing analytics engineering best practices by designing and structuring robust, SQL-based analytical pipelines; maintaining and iterating the M&E KPI pipeline as business needs evolve; embedding best practices through connecting Dataform to GitHub for seamless code sharing and version control; designing and implementing rigorous data quality checks and automated tests with proactive Slack notifications for pipeline issues; supporting the Central Data team with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on new data products; collaborating with analysts and insights managers to build and optimise tables for fast, efficient dashboards; driving migration of legacy processes to BigQuery notebooks and pipelines to reduce costs and improve query efficiency; assisting in rebuilding and maintaining ITVX streaming data as a robust dimensional model using dbt, integrating complex datasets such as content metadata, broadcast schedules, VOD windows, content contracts, and user demographics; ensuring comprehensive documentation of all data products for the wider business; exploring and integrating new data sources including automated API connections (e.g. Barb) and auditing varied sources to ensure pipeline accuracy; bridging data and business value by linking source data to actionable insight; and helping standardise data models, core metrics, and processes across the Insights team.
