About the Role
We are seeking an experienced vehicle technician and MOT tester to join a busy and dynamic workshop as part of our late shift team. You will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, maintaining, preparing for test, MOT, fault diagnosis, and repair of all Council and other light vehicle and plant assets. The role involves working on a varied fleet in accordance with DVSA's Public Service Vehicle Inspection Manual, MOT Inspection Manual for class 3, 4, 5 and 7 vehicles, DVSA Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness, as well as manufacturer and Council maintenance requirements. Minor repairs to heavy vehicles within the technician's capability may also be required as instructed by the Workshop Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse fleet of frontline vehicles essential for the delivery of council services in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience as a vehicle technician and MOT tester, with the ability to inspect, service, maintain, diagnose faults, and repair light vehicles and plant assets. Familiarity with DVSA manuals and maintenance requirements is essential. Ability to perform minor repairs on heavy vehicles within capability is desirable.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications and certifications in vehicle maintenance and MOT testing are required. You must hold current MOT tester certification for class 3, 4, 5, and 7 vehicles. Additional training or qualifications related to vehicle repair and diagnostics will be advantageous.
