About the Role
This is an outstanding opportunity to join Linklaters, a leading international law firm operating across 20 countries and 30 offices. The Legal & Compliance Manager will report to the Head of Re:link and provide legal advice and services to Re:link leadership and client teams to secure optimal commercial and legal terms of engagement with clients and Re:link consultants. The role involves negotiating contracts, managing legal and commercial risks, and ensuring adherence to firm-wide employment and legal policies through close collaboration with Legal & Risk teams.

Re:link is Linklaters’ flexible lawyer platform, providing clients and practice groups with swift access to a community of high-quality consultants. It forms a key part of Limitless, Linklaters’ re-designed Alternative Legal Services offering. The team is highly collaborative, combining the agility and dynamism of a start-up with the support and professionalism of a global law firm.

Key responsibilities include drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in the UK and Middle East, developing internal processes and policies to minimise risk, resolving queries on contractual and regulatory issues, managing risk and conflict during client placements, advising on cross-border regulatory, compliance and tax issues, driving implementation of AI legaltech tools, collaborating with HR and employment lawyers on compliance matters, providing training and support to the Re:link team, ensuring GDPR compliance, and acting as an advisor to senior leadership on policy and risk matters.

Requirements

Experience
Legally qualified in England & Wales or a comparable Commonwealth jurisdiction with 5+ years’ experience in private practice at a leading international law firm or comparable in-house role. Strong employment law experience is highly desirable. Experience working in or with alternative legal services platforms and/or premium legal recruitment agencies (or comparable experience) is advantageous. Interest in and experience of AI legaltech is preferred.

Well-organised and structured with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. Comfortable working with senior lawyers and clients. Hands-on, flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to support the team as needed.

Qualifications
Qualified lawyer status in England & Wales or comparable jurisdiction. No additional formal qualifications specified, but strong legal expertise and experience in compliance, contract management, and employment law are essential.
