About the Role
The Lettings Support Officer will provide vital administrative support to the Housing Register and Allocations Teams, ensuring services to housing applicants and tenants are delivered efficiently and in full compliance with Council policies, procedures, and relevant legislation. You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for a range of duties that may shift according to work demands and priorities.
The role includes promoting alternative housing options, supporting vulnerable people, managing mobility schemes, data input and indexing, document management, composing email correspondence, assisting with standard document preparation, handling telephone enquiries, liaising with colleagues and external partners, and supporting service improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will assist with advertising properties, arranging viewings, managing property refusals, decants, mutual exchanges, and updating housing application records.

Experience
- Good working understanding and awareness of local housing demand and resident needs.
- Knowledge of Housing Acts related to the letting of social housing.
- Understanding of immigration guidelines regarding eligibility for social housing.
- Awareness of welfare benefits and eligibility criteria.
- Ability to use a range of IT systems effectively.
