About the Role
BBC Studios is a globally renowned media company, creating and distributing the world’s most sought-after TV, audio and digital content. We aim to be the home of the most powerful, entertaining, and inspiring stories for audiences worldwide. Reporting to the Head of Licensing, Hardlines, the UK & EMEA Licensing Executive will support the management of multiple licensees and direct commercial relationships across a wide range of product categories within the BBC Studios portfolio of brands for the region. You will work closely with the UK & EMEA Consumer Products team, who hold full financial and budgetary responsibility for licensing income derived from brands. Your role will involve identifying product opportunities, finding licensees, and managing licensing campaigns.

Your key responsibilities include developing annual brand plans, setting budgets, and achieving sales targets. You will maintain accurate sales forecasts and stay aware of ongoing sales, retail launches, and listings across UK & EMEA. Working alongside Licensing Managers, you will onboard and maintain relationships with licensees and internal departments, manage delivery of sales and brand materials, and contribute to sales support materials and brand presentations.

You will ensure all deals, products, and promotions comply with BBC Studios’ Ethical, Commercial, Sustainability, Environmental, Food, and Editorial policies. There is potential to manage your own licensees and support negotiations and licensing proposals through to BBC Studios Business Affairs. You will monitor licensing contracts and approvals of products and marketing materials, resolving issues to meet product launch timelines.

Collaboration with licensing colleagues in other BBC international offices is essential to optimize brands globally, selecting licensees based on global sales potential. You will work within brand plans to maximize commercial return while protecting and developing BBC Brands. Coordination with internal departments such as Brand Teams, Creative Development, Business Affairs, Legal Affairs, Distribution, Finance, and others involved in product creation is required.

Additional duties include researching and preparing presentations for third party rights owners, identifying manufacturing and retail trends to open new product opportunities, and ensuring product ranges are cohesive and innovative. You will embrace professional account management systems and support system integration or migration. Attendance at trade fairs, presentations, and industry events will be necessary, along with undertaking specific projects or reports assigned by Licensing Managers.
