About the Role
We are seeking a new member to join our dedicated and supportive school improvement team, passionate about making a difference. The successful candidate will have oversight of 14-19 provision alongside a school improvement focused role. You will provide strategic leadership with a focus on academic and vocational learning pathways, working in partnership with the Careers Network and supporting schools and colleges. Key responsibilities include providing strategic oversight of NEET data and reporting trends to the DfE and Ofsted, overseeing the wider post-16 offer in Bexley, reviewing and updating policies related to 14-19 provision, delivering training to schools and education teams within the council, and providing school improvement support for an allocated cluster of schools. You will also focus on transition points at the end of KS4 and KS5 and contribute to traded services by delivering training on teaching and learning, leadership, and governance.

You will join a passionate directorate committed to making Bexley a forerunner in new initiatives and approaches to improving outcomes and experiences for children, young people, and the wider workforce. This role requires strong communication and influencing skills, including the use of coaching and leadership approaches to secure improvement.

Requirements

Experience
Substantial senior leadership experience in a school or trust with responsibility for overseeing the quality of education. Proven track record of delivering significant school improvement at senior leadership or headship level. Extensive leadership experience working within KS4 and KS5 settings. Experience working with partner organisations.

Exceptional leadership skills with a strong strategic focus. Ability to communicate and influence effectively, using coaching and other leadership approaches to secure improvement. Committed to team collaboration and passionate about education excellence.

Qualifications
Qualified teacher status is essential. Candidates must meet the essential criteria outlined in the Person Specification to be considered for this post.
