About the Role
As a Microsoft Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician (DIAT), you will play a vital role in supporting the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s cloud services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Azure. Your responsibilities will include performing cycle audits, managing incoming and outgoing deliveries, coordinating security escorts for third-party vendors, and documenting all inbound and outbound shipments. This role offers an excellent opportunity to deepen your knowledge of inventory management principles, warranty process management, and data bearing device destruction while advancing your career within a global leader in cloud operations.

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team manages a global portfolio of over 200 data centers across 32 countries, supporting services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide. With a strong focus on environmental sustainability and operational optimization, CO+I fosters a culture of growth, inclusion, and professional development through training, career rotation programs, and certifications.

In this role, you will perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision, escalate issues during high-volume periods, and maintain accurate inventory records across various management systems. You will also help reconcile inventory discrepancies, manage warranty claims, and ensure compliance with security and data management policies. Your work will directly contribute to the reliability and efficiency of Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure while embodying the company’s values of respect, integrity, and accountability.

High School Diploma AND experience in warehouse or supply chain environments within IT, inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or related fields. Equivalent experience will also be considered. Experience operating heavy-load movement equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or chassis lifts is preferred.

About you
You are detail-oriented, able to work independently with good judgment, and comfortable escalating issues when necessary. You have strong organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining accurate inventory and asset management records. You are willing to travel between sites as required and comply with security and data management policies. A valid driver’s license is required for this role.

Qualifications
Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background checks and other security screenings as required. Commitment to Microsoft’s culture of inclusion, respect, and accountability. Preferred qualifications include experience in IT logistics or warehouse environments and familiarity with warranty claim processes.
