At Cygnet Hospital Beckton, we offer a range of secure mental health services for women across four specialist wards including PICU, acute admissions and personality disorder services. We are recruiting full time Mental Health Support Workers with a passion for delivering outstanding care. As an active member of our dynamic team, you will support nursing staff with the admission, assessment, implementation and discharge of inpatients, always focusing on dignity and safety.

In this role you will work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team to support the implementation of treatments and therapies as per service users’ care plans. You will complement and provide support to qualified nurses, undertake safe observations of patients (sometimes on a 1:1 basis), and meet the physical and emotional needs of service users in a caring and empathic manner. You will play an active role in maintaining physical and mental wellbeing by supporting individual or group work and help maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment.

Working within safeguarding guidelines, you will undertake training in de-escalation and PMVA techniques to support patients with potentially violent or aggressive behaviours. Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check. Experience
Previous inpatient mental health experience is ideally required, preferably in a challenging and/or acute setting.

Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 in a relevant care setting is preferable but not essential. Completion of mandatory training and induction including necessary restraint training is required.
