About the Role
Join Cygnet Hospital Harrow and help make a positive difference in the lives of people in our care. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will carry out a variety of day-to-day maintenance tasks to ensure the hospital is safe, efficient, and fully functional. You will undertake planned remedial works and routine checks on plant, services, and vehicles, keeping accurate records of call-outs and maintenance activities.

Your duties will include decorating, basic joinery, plumbing, painting, and general building work. You will maintain equipment, services, and vehicles, comply with safe working practices, and report any faulty equipment or potential hazards. Additionally, you will be responsible for weekly fire alarm point checks, including fire exits, door retaining devices, and fire emergency lights.

Cygnet Hospital Harrow provides recovery-focused mental health services, including specialist diagnostic, assessment, and inpatient care for individuals with complex needs, including dual diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Our acute inpatient psychiatric services offer assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a wide range of psychological and emotional conditions, including those detained under the Mental Health Act.

Experience
Experience in a similar maintenance role or recent self-employed maintenance work is preferred. Experience in electrical, plumbing, or construction industries is advantageous.

Car driver (advantageous).

Qualifications
No specific qualifications required, but a willingness to learn and undertake further training through our apprenticeship scheme is encouraged.
