Hooper Ward is a 13-bed acute mental health service for women, providing a safe and stabilising environment for individuals experiencing an acute episode of mental illness requiring emergency admission.
Upping Ward is a 15-bed Intensive Support Service for women with personality disorders and complex mental health needs. This service offers a robust programme of care for women with challenging high-risk behaviour who may have had previous inappropriate placements, aiming to meet their needs in a less restrictive setting.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing therapeutic relationships with service users and carers to motivate and support recovery, collaborating with colleagues to ensure safe and effective care, applying skilled interventions based on assessed needs, maintaining contemporaneous records and care plans, producing detailed nursing reports, working with management to develop services and improve quality, attending training and engaging in continuous professional development, administering prescribed medicines in line with healthcare procedures and guidelines, and ensuring care plans are complete and maintained in accordance with NMC guidelines.
Experience
Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a current NMC Pin Number. Experience in maintaining documentation, undertaking audits, and applying the Mental Health Act 1983. Ability to deputise in a clinical lead role.
