About the Role
Balfour Beatty Asset & Technology Solutions is seeking a skilled and motivated Mobile HGV Technician to join our Fleet team. This role involves travelling across the UK, primarily within Buckinghamshire, Derby, Warwickshire, and the North M25 area. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance and repair work on a range of HGVs and specialist vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, compliant, and operational. Working as part of a dedicated fleet team, your role is key in minimising vehicle downtime and maximising productivity. Your main duties will include carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and specialist vehicles; diagnosing faults and identifying effective repair solutions using diagnostic equipment; completing inspections and maintenance activities in line with legal and company requirements; supporting MOT preparation to achieve high first-time pass rates; accurately recording service, inspection, and maintenance documentation; and following all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures. You will also deliver excellent customer service and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Experience
- Strong technical background in HGV maintenance and repair
- Experience maintaining and repairing HGVs and commercial vehicles
- Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment
- Good understanding of HGV MOT requirements and relevant legislation
- Knowledge of health and safety practices within a workshop or mobile maintenance environment
- Basic IT skills and ability to complete maintenance records accurately

Qualifications
- City & Guilds qualification in HGV maintenance, vehicle engineering or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Valid HGV Driving Licence

- IRTEC accreditation
- Knowledge of winter maintenance operations
