About the Role
We are seeking a Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker to cover the night shift in our Lewisham-based service, which provides specialist intensive rehabilitation for individuals requiring enhanced interventions beyond commissioned community services. Our residents live with us for up to nine months after discharge from acute wards to avoid inpatient rehabilitation admissions. We support them to transition into less supported accommodation, promoting independence and community integration.

In this role, you will ensure resident safety, wellbeing, and progress towards recovery goals. You will help create a safe and empowering environment, build relationships with relevant partners, and develop support plans. You will plan and facilitate activities and support residents in achieving greater independence. Night staff play a crucial role in maintaining the high-quality care provided during the day by ensuring a safe, respectful, and responsive environment. Night staff are expected to remain awake, alert, and actively engaged throughout their shift; sleeping on duty is strictly prohibited and may lead to disciplinary action, including dismissal.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing night support and supervision across two nearby residential properties
- Monitoring residents’ wellbeing through regular checks and responding to incidents or emergencies
- Supporting residents to achieve recovery and rehabilitation goals to promote independence
- Maintaining accurate records and handovers to ensure effective communication between shifts
- Ensuring a calm, safe, and supportive environment that promotes positive engagement and progress
- Collaborating with colleagues and management to deliver high-quality care
- Remaining alert and monitoring CCTV throughout the shift
- Completing routine night duties and tasks handed over by day shift or service manager
- Key worker duties including inductions, support plans, reviews, risk assessments, welfare checks, record updates, monitoring access, managing unauthorized visitors, following missing person protocols, and escalating issues when necessary
- Health & Safety duties including property checks, reporting maintenance issues, keeping communal areas clean and safe, and completing required reports (AINMs and others)

Requirements

Experience
- Previous experience working with people with multiple complex needs including mental health, substance misuse, alcohol, and challenging behaviours
- Experience creating co-produced support plans, key working, care planning, and providing appropriate interventions
- IT proficiency with ability to learn new software and basic Microsoft applications
- Understanding of housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
- Awareness of social and societal marginalisation related to mental health, addiction, exploitation, homelessness, and previous convictions

About You
We are looking for a resilient and compassionate individual who can provide high-quality care within a flexible, recovery-focused service. You will work collaboratively as part of a supportive team that values communication, empathy, and empowerment. You should be proactive, able to support residents even during quieter hours, and contribute to smooth service operation while actively engaging with the wider team and residents to help achieve service KPIs.

Qualifications
No specific qualifications are stated; however, relevant experience and a commitment to recovery-focused care are essential.
