Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, working 12.5 hour shifts on a rota from 20:00 to 08:30, including a break. You may be required to work bank holidays in line with the needs of the service.

Salary
£27,000 per annum

About the Role
We are seeking a Night Recovery Worker to join our 24/7 accommodation service in Croydon, providing high support to females with forensic mental health needs, complex needs, and dual diagnosis. In this role, you will deliver person-centred support to help residents overcome personal challenges and achieve their goals through tailored support plans, interventions, and activities. You will collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure holistic care.

You will be responsible for the smooth running of the night service by conducting welfare checks, supporting residents, managing any issues that arise, completing administrative tasks, and providing thorough handovers to day staff and managers to maintain consistent service quality.

Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the main support worker for a group of residents, creating and updating support and risk plans
- Providing advice, guidance, information, and life skills training to residents
- Carrying out welfare checks and ensuring the night service operates smoothly
- Supporting residents with medication administration and maintaining accurate records
- Helping residents understand their rights, build confidence, and increase independence as they transition back to the community
- Recognising signs of deteriorating mental health and taking appropriate action to prevent crises
- Following safeguarding procedures and reporting concerns promptly
- Building strong working relationships with colleagues and external agencies

Requirements

Experience
- Experience supporting women with forensic mental health needs
- Solid understanding of risk management, rehabilitation, and recovery-focused practice
- IT proficiency with basic Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn new software programs

- Female (occupational requirement due to the nature of the service)
- Ability to manage night shift caseloads, prioritise tasks, and use your own initiative
- Effective communicator with the ability to build rapport and trust with people from diverse backgrounds

- Understanding of key legislation and best practices in mental health, safeguarding, and social care
