About the Role
The Operations Team Leader will split their time between operational duties as a Production Specialist (PS) and line management responsibilities within the Media Operations department in London. This role involves working alongside the PS team to cover day-to-day demands, forward planning for known events, and managing other team members. You will maintain and develop relationships with multiple stakeholders across the BBC, acting as the main point of contact for Production Specialists and collaborating with other Media Operations teams to prioritise efficient and effective content delivery. About the Team
BBC Media Operations is central to delivering outstanding content across all BBC platforms for diverse audiences. With around nine hundred staff, the team manages craft and production operations for BBC’s news, radio, and some sport services across London, Salford, Birmingham, and other UK sites. The team captures, edits, and produces output 24/7 for TV, radio, and digital platforms. Experts in technical, operational, and production creativity, they work closely with editorial colleagues to co-create content reaching millions daily. The team also manages production services, editing and post-production, stores, OB bases in England, and the BBC’s fleet of pool and broadcast vehicles.
