About the Role
Join the BBC Digital News team at the heart of the newsroom, producing fast, accurate stories and videos that reach millions in the UK and worldwide. As a journalist, you'll craft compelling content for text stories and live pages on key breaking news moments, helping to shape how audiences experience breaking news and analysis across BBC platforms. You'll work closely with colleagues in the London newsroom and globally, with opportunities to innovate with formats, broaden your editorial horizons, and develop your skills in a fast-paced environment that prioritises accuracy and impact. Tasks may include writing news stories, updating breaking news live pages, collaborating with correspondents on analysis, and producing fast turnaround video content of key news moments.

Requirements

Experience
Experience of writing fast-paced, breaking online news stories or live-page posts with attention to accuracy, context and tone. A track record of covering the UK and international news agenda. Proven ability to work swiftly and make decisions under intense pressure.

A love of news with sharp writing and editing skills. A thoughtful approach to storytelling. Ability to collaborate effectively with correspondents and editors. Capacity to generate ideas that attract new audiences and diversify coverage. Understanding of audience behaviour and analytics.
