About the Role
The BBC Concert Orchestra aims to bring inspiring musical experiences to everyone, everywhere, showcasing versatility across a wide repertoire. As Principal Bass Trombone, doubling on Tenor Trombone if required, you will demonstrate excellent solo and orchestral playing ability, maintaining the highest musical standards. You will play a full role in the life of the Orchestra, which performs regularly on BBC Radio 3 and Radio 2, appears at major venues including the Southbank Centre and BBC Proms, and contributes to innovative education and community activities. This role involves travelling throughout the UK and participating in tours, requiring flexibility for evening and weekend work.

Requirements

Experience
Excellent professional orchestral and solo playing ability with knowledge of the BBC Concert Orchestra's repertoire.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships within a diverse team. Commitment to uphold the Orchestra's reputation and active participation as a supportive team member. Preparedness and punctuality for every session. Ability to plan ahead effectively to prepare parts and optimize available resources. Awareness of health and safety considerations.

Qualifications
Professional musical qualifications and experience consistent with a principal orchestral role are expected.
