About the Role
At Via, our mission is to provide the best health and wellbeing support to as many people as possible, helping them to change their lives for the better. Last year, we supported over 11,000 people across the UK affected by alcohol and drug use. Everything we do is driven by our values: Care – care for people is at the heart of everything we do; Be human – we are accessible, genuine and humble, always learning; Do the right thing – we’re open, honest and inclusive, and we get things done.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and growing organisation as an Outreach Recovery Practitioner for our Brent – New Beginnings Service. This post is a key part of a busy, innovative, and exciting Outreach Team. The post holder will bring passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to a role that offers the chance to make a lasting difference to the lives of service users.
The community outreach practitioner will work with individuals, communities, and organisations to reduce the harm associated with substance use. The role involves better understanding the issues people face, identifying and addressing barriers to accessing substance misuse services, raising awareness of related harm, promoting community and user involvement, and working with partners to improve access to support services including treatment and recovery.
This is not just a job – you’ll help people rebuild their lives, reconnect with family and friends, return to work or education, and much more. We are looking for individuals with compassion, good communication skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. If you are a good listener, stay curious, and want to make a difference, this role is for you.
Experience
Experience working with individuals affected by substance use or in a related health and social care setting is desirable but not essential. A passion for helping others and commitment to the role is vital.
About you
Compassionate, patient, and able to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and communities. Ability to remain calm under pressure and work collaboratively within a team. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in health, social care, or related fields are advantageous but not mandatory. A willingness to undertake training and development opportunities provided by the organisation is essential.
