About the Role
Are you compassionate, proactive, and passionate about helping others build confidence and independence? As an Outreach Support Worker at Peabody, you will support vulnerable individuals across the Tower Hamlets borough to live independently and thrive. Your day will involve visiting customers in their homes to help them maintain their tenancies and develop essential life skills. You will assist individuals in navigating housing, welfare benefits, and accessing services, while building their confidence.
You will liaise with external agencies to ensure customers receive timely and appropriate support and provide crisis intervention when needed, always acting with empathy and professionalism.
This role is not a care worker position; it focuses on empowering and supporting people to build resilience, develop skills, and take control of their lives. You will act as a cheerleader, guide, and advocate, working independently within a passionate team committed to helping people flourish. Your support will directly contribute to creating independence and positive change in your community.
Experience
- Experience in a supportive role, either professional or voluntary
- Experience working with individuals facing mental health, health-related, or employment challenges
- Understanding of housing support needs and welfare benefits
- Experience providing homeless support and ongoing tenancy support
About you
- Clear communication and confident problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and ability to safeguard vulnerable people
- Organised with good time management and IT skills
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
