About the Role
We’re recruiting Repairs Inspectors to support the delivery of a high-quality, resident-focused repairs service. These roles are key to improving contractor performance, resolving repairs effectively and helping to drive higher resident satisfaction. As the service continues to evolve, Inspectors will move towards dedicated borough-based patches, allowing for greater local knowledge, consistency and ownership.
As a Repairs Inspector, you’ll be a visible, accountable presence out in our communities. You’ll inspect works, manage post-inspections, support the resolution of complex or escalated repairs and work closely with contractors to ensure high standards are met.
Much of your working day will be spent independently visiting homes and estates, using mobile/PDA technology to document inspections, update systems and manage your cases. You’ll need to be confident in making professional judgements, balancing technical requirements with resident needs.
This role plays a vital part in strengthening contractor management and improving resident outcomes, with positive results already being seen through this way of working.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect responsive repairs, damp and mould cases, and escalated works
- Complete post-inspections to monitor quality, value for money and resident experience
- Use mobile devices and IT systems to update records, complete reports and manage cases
- Work closely with contractors to challenge performance and drive improvements
- Communicate clearly with residents and colleagues, keeping people informed throughout
- Take ownership of cases from start to finish, ensuring issues are properly resolved
- Raise health and safety concerns and ensure regulatory standards are met
