About the Role
Provide vital legal support to protect vulnerable residents. As a Paralegal in our Bi-Borough Social Care & Education Legal Team, you will play a vital role in safeguarding vulnerable residents. Working closely with our lawyers, you will provide high-quality professional support on every case and help build a safer, fairer Kensington and Chelsea for all residents.

Your day-to-day work will focus on providing comprehensive paralegal support to at least three lawyers. You will handle key case-management tasks, including instructing experts and counsel, drafting initial legal documents, proofreading, and undertaking legal research using appropriate methods. A core part of your role will involve preparing electronic court bundles, uploading them to digital courtrooms, and liaising with various courts.

Beyond core legal support, you will help keep the team running smoothly by managing diaries, organising meetings, processing purchase orders, and maintaining accurate records on our electronic case-management system and other data spreadsheets. Working closely with our Business Support Team, you will ensure agreed actions are delivered on time, support onboarding of new team members, and maintain compliant office processes. As your experience and confidence grow, you will have the opportunity to take the lead on non-contentious court matters under the supervision of a solicitor.

At RBKC, we are committed to investing in our people, communities, and future. You will join a highly experienced and supportive legal team focused on your professional development, offering structured training, ongoing mentoring, and clear pathways to build a rewarding legal career in public service.

Alongside a competitive salary, a generous pension scheme, and leave entitlement, you will benefit from flexible working arrangements and comprehensive wellbeing resources.

Kensington and Chelsea is home to diverse communities, thriving businesses, and unique local places. Everything we do is focused on supporting our residents, strengthening our approach, and creating a fairer borough. We take pride in delivering services with care and competence, acting with integrity, and working together to build a greener, safer, and fairer borough for all.

Interviews will be held in person on the week commencing 26th October 2026. Please apply online, explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. We reserve the right to extend or close this vacancy early without warning, subject to the volume of suitable applications.

We are committed to promoting equality, respecting diversity, and welcoming applications from all sections of the community. We are a Disability Confident Employer, committed to ensuring that our recruitment and selection process is inclusive and accessible.
